Firesteed 2006 Oregon Pinot Noir Reviews

Ahead of the competition - Oregon has established itself as a premier region for both Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.  Firesteed Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris jumped out of our wine glasses and ahead of the competition.  Here are wines that have purity of fruit picked perfectly ripe then handled with precision and care.

Firesteed is the leading producers of Pinot Noir in Oregon and the 2006 demonstrates their affinity for it.  Although it's the most finicky grape in the vineyard, Firesteed makes it look easy with consistently bright berry flavors unencumbered by oak or excessive alcohol.  Here is a wine made with food in mind.  Salmon and Pinot Noir meet in the crossroads of your palate in perfect synergy with intensity and balance.  Surf and surf, Pinot and Pinot, yum and yum.

Salty's Wine Blog, May 2008

Outstanding and affordable - Kudos to owner Howard Rossbach and his winemaking/grape-growing team!  This outstanding - and affordable - Pinot Noir offers berry, earth, and vanilla on the nose, and appealing cherry, berry and toast on the palate.  A reasonable low alcohol content (13.4%) makes this a perfect Pinot for salmon.

Try Firesteed Pinot Noir 2006:  Pinot Noir fans get very excited by Sonoma, Australia and Oregon.  Firesteed....has charming rounded red fruits.

Olive Magazine (UK), Max Allen's 'Wine Regions" June 2008

Wow, what an awesome value for a Pinot from Oregon.  This number has flavors of black cherry and raspberry, well rounded with a seam of acidity and a hint of oak.
